Combining sustainability and convenience – KTR Systems, a globally operating company with a clear focus on resource-efficient solutions, shows how it’s done. By integrating the Relevo reusable system into the zuTisch (toTable) app by Kamasys, KTR offers its employees a modern and sustainable alternative to disposable dishware. Since the system was introduced in the company’s in-house kiosk, demand for the reusable option has risen significantly, with an impressively low loss rate of just 0.29%.

KTR Systems was founded in 1959 in Rheine and is nowadays a globally active provider of drive technology, braking systems, hydraulic components and cooling systems. The family-run company employs over 1,100 people worldwide. Kamasys has been the market leader in digital communal catering since 2003, developing modern solutions for POS systems and apps used in employee catering. With its zuTisch app, Kamasys offers modular features such as ordering, payment, meal planning, feedback and return management. Kamasys is one of our partners and has a direct interface with Relevo. This integration ensures that reusable containers are automatically assigned to guests.

The Solution

Using the Relevo reusable system is remarkably simple: employees conveniently order their meals via the zuTisch app and choose whether they want to dine on-site or take their food to go in Relevo’s durable reusable containers. These containers keep meals fresh for longer and are ideal for later consumption. The entire process—from ordering to pickup and return—is fully digitalized, saving both time and resources.

Results

For the KTR kiosk team, the solution offers numerous advantages: pre-orders that simplify planning, prevent overproduction and reduce waste. Employees also benefit from the easy handling and incentives such as cashless payment via payroll.

Since its introduction in December 2023, over 2,000 borrowings with Relevo packaging containers were made by February 2024. This success story demonstrates how digitalization and sustainability can go hand in hand. With this innovative solution, KTR Systems is setting a clear example: sustainability and convenience are not a contradiction, but the key to modern company catering.
